“What did you think of me when we first met that you no longer believe it's true?” I poured wine into my glass and waited to see what he answered.

He scratched his chin and thought for a moment. 

   “Every time we met, which was in fact only a few times, I thought you were too cocky and wanted to be the center of attention.” 

Cocky and center of attention? Again, really???

My mouth twitched and I froze. 

   “But when you're sitting here and we're talking, you're different. Maybe it's your alter ego that you use to fool others around you. So my answer is that you are a good person, Alexa, even if you try to convince people otherwise.” He swallowed dryly and waited for my reaction. 

   “You're not the only one who's told me I act like that. I'm actually very insecure.” I wanted to cry but I didn't show it. I don’t want people to think I am egocentric... 

   “We're all insecure about something…” He concluded and crossed his legs into a Turkish sitting position. 

I nodded and heard small raindrops falling on the window. 

   “What are you insecure about? I-if I may ask.” His curiosity was too strong. 

I curled the left corner of my mouth and frowned. 

   “In everything, probably.” I laughed foolishly and nervously started playing with the rings on my hand. 

   “I hate my body. I hate food and would give anything to enjoy it like you. I'm afraid of intimacy, I'd like to enjoy your every touch without feeling uncomfortable. I just want to be a girl who loves life and herself. Who doesn't care what others think of her. Who wouldn’t be disgusted by men.” I whispered the last sentence so that I could be heard as little as possible through the rain.
